Akshata Murty, Rishi Sunak's wife, was named Britain's best-dressed by Tatler

For the year 2023, Akshata Murty, Rishi Sunak's wife, has been named one of Britain's best-dressed individuals.

Along with Love Actually star Bill Nighy and Princess Beatrice's husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, the 43-year-old businesswoman and designer topped Tatler magazine's list of the best dressed.

Murty, who is the little girl of Indian tycoon and organizer behind Infosys NR Narayana Murthy, stood out as truly newsworthy this year when she ventured out in £570 shoes from JW Anderson for the school run. She likewise became known for her "calm extravagance" style, otherwise called "covertness riches", having been seen in Gucci mentors that cost £445 and a cowhide skirt worth more than £1,000.

However, Murty has since switched her extravagant wardrobe for more accessible brands, many of which are British, after she and Sunak received some criticism for wearing designer labels (the prime minister was mocked for wearing a suit that cost £3,500 and £490 Prada shoes to campaign in Teesside in July).

She stepped out in clothes from Joseph, Strethberry, Me+Em, and Chinti & Parker, most of which cost less than $1,500, in May while the couple attended the G7 summit in Japan.

Tatler's style editor, Chandler Tregaskes, stated: The sought after number one spot in Tatler's best dressed list has a place with the chatelaine of Bringing down Road, Akshata Murty.

"Her surge of 'It' outfits would have kept Jackie Kennedy honest. Mrs. Sunak is a shining example of diplomatically debauched modern dressing that steals the show, despite the fact that she does not wear pillbox hats or layers of pearls like she did in the past.

Murty went to the Style Organization of Plan and Marketing in Los Angeles and later sent off her own design name, Akshata Plans.

She has greeted prominent people in a variety of elegant outfits since her husband became prime minister last year, including a purple flower-patterned dress to attend the annual party of news publishers Rupert and Lachlan Murdoch in June.

For the crowning ordinance function of Lord Charles III in May, she wore a light blue weaved dress with a dark fascinator. A blue-and-white dress with mosaic-like patterns to welcome US first lady Jill Biden, who was dressed in solid pink, was another memorable outfit.

Murty also appeared on Tatler's Social Power Index for 2023, where King Charles III, Queen Camilla, and Sunak topped the list.

The Marchioness of Cholmondeley, opera singer Danielle de Niese, and the former chief executive of the Serpentine Galleries, Yana Peel, are also on the magazine's fashion list.

The late Queen Elizabeth II, the Princess of Wales, the Duchess of Sussex, human rights lawyer Amal Clooney, fashion designer Stella McCartney, and pop stars Harry Styles and Dua Lipa have previously been mentioned on the list.

Chloé Shares the Makeup Trick for Zero Sleep

It's just before 8 am in Paris, and models—big ones, the kind with Wikipedia pages—are creeping into the Grand Palais for their Chloé call time. They're on their fourth week of fashion shows, their third time zone, and their zillionth cup of coffee. And though it's their job to look impossibly amazing at every waking moment... well...part of what makes them so beautiful is that they're only human.

Enter Aaron de Mey, famed makeup artist with a Wiki of his own. After dabbing concealer and a bit of anti-shine primer onto the girls' skin, he takes M.A.C's Eye Kohl in Teddy and smudges it softly through the lower lid's waterline, blurring the color onto the outer edges. "You're using it just like a black eyeliner pencil," he explains, "but because it's brown, it's a tougher, cooler take on the look... and by using a pure brown, a chocolate brown, you're avoiding any redness in the eyes or under eye circles that make you look tired." De Mey skips mascara ("too glamorous for this look"), and adds a touch of highlighter underneath bottom lashes to further illuminate skin.

Meanwhile on the hair front, Eugene Souleiman admits that the way to get the show's messy, textured, tomboy-inspired hair involves one key product: water. "We want it to look like they haven't [washed] their hair in a two or three days," he explains. "We want it free, and loose...I've used a bit of moisturizing spray at the ends, but then really left it alone. We want it to look a little messed up."

If you're thinking these quick tricks only work on models and celebrity offspring, take note: Chloé designer Clare Waight Keller, a working mother of two, sported the look for her final bow. And though we'd bet a Drew Bag she pulled an all-nighter before the show, she looked anything but "messed up" at this morning's catwalk.

Rihanna's Mom Shares Some Thoughts on Her Daughter's Style

Rihanna's spring/summer 2017 Fenty x Puma collection was a hit with the critics. But no one's opinion matters more than mom's.

"It was a really good show," Monica Braithewaite, aka the woman who made Rihanna, told ELLE.com. "It brings out the creativity that Rih has and it's a good platform to motivate as well as inspire."

Braithwaite, who was dressed by her daughter in a black and white bomber and black track pants said she "felt great" in her custom look. While Rihanna may have had everything to do with Braithwaite's style that night, what of her influence on Rihanna? Did she dole out style advice to baby Rih?

"The only fashion advice she got from me when she was a little girl was to please leaves my clothes alone," she said. Something tells me Rihanna didn't listen.

Talking to PA, Sarah Jessica Parker said: "I don't think any of us have said no. I don't know whether it's a series or the movie.

"I think that remains an open question and discussion that will continue until it's been resolved. I think that's always a possibility, definitely."

Willie Garson (Stanford himself) previously told Digital Spy that he reckons all four ladies and director Michael Patrick King would never rule out signing up for a new chapter.

"We honestly don't know," he said to us. "I know that Sarah [Jessica Parker] and Michael had at one point had an idea for a story, but we honestly don't know.

"Any time we tease anyone with the possibility, we're just being cheeky!"

When asked if he would like to make a new film, Willie said: "I would make a hundred of them. I'll be in a walker with a broken hip! But I would keep going.

"I don't think any of us would say, 'Absolutely not, I want to leave that part of my life behind me.' I have no idea when or if that were to happen."

On why SATC has remained so popular after 18 years, he added: "Whether they know it or not, the show is about connections between people and about love.

"People don't know while they're watching it, because they're focusing on the fancy clothes, and the jokes, and the crazy situations, but really what it's about is human connection.

"But it makes every single person think, 'Oh, I know someone like that', or, 'That one represents me', and that's universal—male or female, young or old."

Without getting too (ahem) Carried away, what if Sex and the City comes back to our TV screens as an updated version? Will we see Miranda forget about her love for TiVo and discover Netflix and chill instead? While Sam swipes right for all the local talent on Tinder?

City break to Thessaloniki, Greece

Greece is rarely on the radar when it comes to city breaks. At best, Athens is offered as a brief stopover for agitated cruise shippers to indulge in a blink-and-you-miss-it trek up the Acropolis when their liner docks outside the Greek capital.

But a three-hour flight from the UK will take you to Thessaloniki, the Cindarella of city breaks, and a place just waiting for the moment British tourists will discover its magic.

We arrive on a boiling afternoon – the soaring temperature pleasantly cooled by a salty sea breeze.

For Thessaloniki is a city on the water. Indeed its heart pulses along the 5km stretch running from the port to its spectacular new waterfront section – a series of themed gardens, statutes and arty sculptures with enough space for pram-pushers, joggers and cyclists to share space.

In fact Thessaloniki is a city you can enjoy on foot or on bike – we did both. Especially since we booked into the The Excelsior a super smart five star boutique hotel just a stone`s throw from the main Aristotelous Square. As well as being super chic, and beautifully located, the hotel also serves its delicious Mediterranean breakfast buffet in an airy rooftop breakfast room.

But what to do first – especially since the temptation is to visit one of the many cafes lining the waterfront and simply stare out to sea?

It`s also a tough call since this is a city crammed with history with 15 UNESCO World Heritage Sites and 29 museums. Little wonder that Thessaloniki, founded in 315BC, and the capital of ancient Greek Macedonia, has itself been called an open-air museum.

Saunter around the city to see from the Roman Rotunda, and Agora or market place to the city`s iconic 15th-century White Tower.

Not that it`s all about the past. For chocoholics and those adults (like us) still young at heart there is the first Chocolate Theme Park in Greece.

And if you want to see the whole city in the laziest way possible, you have to stop at the skyline café and revolving restaurant located at the top of the OTE Tower which offers spectacular views. Although the very slight sensation of movement as you dawdle over your Ouzo is a little strange (though not unpleasant).

Thessaloniki has a youthful verve and energy – in fact it feels utterly indemnified from the deficit ridden Greek homeland we read of so frequently. This in part is because of its 170000 students who attend the city`s Aristotle university.

Just like this mobile population of young people, however, there`s no getting away from the ebb and flow of communities who have lived here in the past.

Perhaps this is most poignantly recalled in the city`s Jewish Museum. For once Thessaloniki was home to a huge Jewish community with a presence in so many areas of the city`s commercial interests including textiles, and newspapers.

However the city`s Jewish population was decimated by the Nazi`s in 1942 – and indeed a Holocaust memorial sits next to Eleftherias Square where the Jews were rounded up one boiling July afternoon and subsequently deported to Auschwitz. Standing there as we did – the square is now a car park – it`s hard to imagine the horrors of that terrible time.

Of course, all this walking made us constantly hungry. But Thessaloniki`s cuisine will not disappoint either in choice or variety. There`s an abundance of fish dishes because of the city`s maritime location. Though our hotel restaurant also drew us in with its contemporary menu of American, British and Greek food.

Meanwhile the city`s bakeries tempt with delicacies such as trigon panoramas – triangular pastries filled with cream.

Perhaps most memorable of all were the people. Charming, warm and inviting, everywhere we went the Thessalonians offered us a wonderful welcome.

Food, history, gorgeous weather and Hellenic hospitality. Thessaloniki is the city break waiting to be discovered. Who knows, you might even want to stay longer. We most certainly did.

Here's Exactly How Kim Kardashian Does Her Own Makeup

Kim Kardashian gets frequent requests from fans to post her makeup routine, apparently, and she "finally did it!" while in Toronto for Kanye West's "Saint Pablo" tour.

In a nine-minute video that she posted to her site and on YouTube, Kim goes through the "quick" version of the makeup routine she does when she's on the road. From her hotel bathroom, with cameos from Kanye and BFF Jonathan Cheban, Kim goes from bare-faced to everyday glam.

Kim first takes a Neutrogena makeup wipe to her almost-bare face. "I forgot my face wash but I already started my eye makeup so I'm going to be super sloppy and just use a Neutrogena...makeup wipe," Kim says. (Real.)

She hydrates her skin with a $240 jar of La Mer Perfecting Treatment and follows with "Giorgio Armani sheer shimmer stuff," or Giorgio Armani Shimmer Sheer. "This just adds shimmer under the foundation," she says. "'Cause I just love a little extra glow."

Kim puts up her hair to get it out of her face and spends a second debating which foundation to put on—"Do I use a Chanel foundation or an Armani?" She ultimately settles on the Armani. Here are some of my favorite lines from her monologue:

• "Does anyone else put foundation all over their lips?"
• "Always make sure to get the back of your neck."
• "Do you guys listen to music when you get ready?"
• "I love putting my brushes away as we go."

Even when she only has a few minutes, Kim contours. "You gotta go in the hairline a little bit," she says. "Makes your forehead look smaller too."

Kim does her eyes, applying layers of mascara, contouring her lids, filling in her brows, and cleaning up her shadow. She also says she can't ever do her makeup right in front of a guy because it's too stressful.

Kim moves on to her lips and uses little sister Kylie's Lip Kit in "Candy K" along with a few other products. Kanye comes by the bathroom and she asks him how he likes it. "It looks so pretty! I love that!" So supportive.

She shows off her finished look in selfie mode and finds some flaws with her makeup. "Shit, I shoulda winged that liner a little bit more," she says. "Oh well."
